Résumé : Measure equivalence is an equivalence relation between discrete countable groups. For example, two lattices in a locally compact second countable group are measure equivalent.
This talk presents rigidity of mapping class groups of surfaces in terms of measure equivalence and some ideas of its proof.
As a byproduct of the proof, a locally compact second countable group containig a lattice isomorphic to the mapping class group is described.
