Finite and infinite exchangeability

Jeudi 2 juin 2016 14:00-15:00 - Takis Konstantopoulos - Uppsala University (Suède)

Résumé : Exchangeability is ubiquitous in probability theory, with applications
ranging from statistical mechanics to stochastic networks and Bayesian
inference. The classical result in this area is de Finetti’s theorem that completely characterizes exchangeable probability measures on infinite products of a « nice » space (e.g., a Polish space). In this talk, we shall present results on exchangeable probability measures on finite-dimensional spaces, including conditions for extendibility to higher dimensions.
