Anosov subgroups are a rich class of strongly undistorted subgroups of higher rank semisimple Lie groups. Hyperconvexity is an additional transversality property that is satisfied by many such groups. Hyperconvex Anosov subgroups share many geometric properties with Fuchsian and Kleinian groups; after introducing and motivating the notion, I will discuss relations between orbit growth rates and Hausdorff dimension for this class of groups.
