In recent years, several classical notions in graph theory have been extended to the noncommutative setting, giving rise to their quantum counterparts. While, in general, the classical and quantum notions differ, there are cases where the quantum notions can be completely understood through the classical ones. In this talk, we explain how tree-like structures allow such collapse of the quantum properties into the classical ones. In particular, we discuss two examples: graphs that are 0-hyperbolic and the block decompositions of graphs. This talk is based on joint works with Amaury Freslon and Paul Meunier.
