Using the signature of the flat bundles associated with the representations of surface group into SL(2,R), we count the number of topological connected components of the relative space of representations with boundary holonomy being elliptic, parabolic and hyperbolic.  This generalize the work of W. Goldman where he used the relative Euler number  to the boundary elliptic and parabolic case. This is a joint work with X. Wan.
